Deadmau5 Returns to Las Vegas Strip After Nine Years, Kicking Off Extended Residency at XS Nightclub

Electronic music icon Deadmau5 returned to the Las Vegas Strip with much pomp and glory by playing at XS Nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas Saturday night. It was his first performance in the past almost ten years at that resort. Known for his “big ears” and dazzling live performances, Deadmau5 brought his trademark stage set up “The Cube,” this time made smaller for nightclub performances, which he promised would send his fans in ecstatic heaven.

Deadmau5’s extended engagement at XS Nightclub runs through the summer, with additional dates scheduled for April 25, June 7, June 28, July 19, August 31, and September 6.

In his return to the legendary venue, Deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman, reflected: “My last Wynn run was great in 2016. Fast-forward almost 10 years. It feels cool to be back, but this time it is about more the Deadmau5 experience: the cube, visuals, and, of course, the music.”

Not a stranger in Las Vegas, Deadmau5 has headlined the grand events around the city, such as the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) and an enormous performance at Downtown Las Vegas Events Center in 2021 after the lockdowns saw over 10,000 fans gathering to witness this post-pandemic spectacle. Then there was the 2019 EDC comeback where he created headlines after a brief public spat with the event’s founder Pasquale Rotella.

In addition to his performance at XS Nightclub, Deadmau5 has been recognized for his contributions to Las Vegas’ entertainment scene. Last year, he received a Key to the Las Vegas Strip from Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom.

With new tracks such as “Endless,” featuring Rebūke and Ed Graves, and “Jupiter,” Deadmau5 continues to push the boundaries of electronic music. His performances this year at XS Nightclub have been part of Wynn Nightlife’s expansive roster of headliners, including the likes of Diplo, The Chainsmokers, and Afrojack.
