The Iconic Flamingo Las Vegas Gets A New Pool Complex And Other Exciting Additions
Friday, April 4, 2025 | Las Vegas
It is the Flamingo Las Vegas, the mythical resort, and this year will just burn the summer by launching its new GO Pool complex into seasons: an expansive renovation and remodeling program running this famous dwell for the last 79 years.
As if just in time for the pool season, the fabulous outdoor oasis boasts three new pools, a 30-person swim-up bar, and a 50-foot rain-curtain waterfall, topped with a DJ booth, all part of the property’s $20 million renovations. The revamp also includes a wet deck, 33 luxury cabanas, and upgraded lighting to create a dazzling nighttime ambiance.
This pool project builds on the property’s $90 million room renovation completed in 2017, marking a new chapter for Caesars Entertainment’s oldest Las Vegas resort.
“It was kind of the last of the properties to get any capital in, and somewhat by design,” said Dan Walsh, senior vice president and general manager of Flamingo. “We’ve always been working on a master plan—how to position this property and what it needs.”
Walsh highlighted that the Flamingo’s prime Strip-facing frontage had been underused—something the recent introduction of celebrity restaurants has begun to change. New arrivals like Gordon Ramsay Burger, Lisa Vanderpump’s Pinky’s, and the Miami-based Havana 1957 Cuban restaurant have brought fresh energy to the casino floor.
“Opening three restaurants at the same time is kind of crazy,” Walsh noted, “but once we started, we decided to keep going and look at the rest of the property.”
The four-acre outdoor area of the Flamingo, with waterfalls and tropical trees and alive with live flamingos, is one of those rare assets that Walsh describes as a well-kept secret that many visitors never even knew existed. Nearly 30 years old, the original pool was revamped thoroughly to enhance the views and experience of this outside-living environment.
To better enclose the tropical wonderland, approximately ninety palm trees and other types of trees were relocated, creating an aura of seclusion and a resort feel. The total number of pools on-site is now five, including the existing grotto.
The GO Pool is expected to officially open later this spring, with complimentary admission for locals. Plans are also underway for adults-only night swims, adding to the venue’s appeal.
As Flamingo continues its evolution, Walsh emphasized a balance between modernization and honoring the resort’s roots.
“We want to make it nice and new and modern and beautiful, but we also want to respect the traditions of the property,” he said. “Everyone in the company is saying the same thing—it’s the year of the Flamingo.”
